The spirit of patriotism, which has been strengthened by the success of the Beijing Olympics, was evident among students at HFCC. There were still two days to the National Day, but students and staff had already reaffirmed their national identity.

The flag was raised by the Head Girl, Janice Lam and the Deputy Head Girl, Kathy Ho who were accompanied by the girl guides. Everyone stood solemnly and saluted the flag. The ceremony was complemented by the singing of the National Anthem which was led by the school orchestra.
