The long-awaited day finally arrived for the S2 students to display the fruits of their efforts in organized Project-Based Learning (PBL). One cannot undermine the value of PBL which not only promotes the idea of self-directed learning but also allows students to reflect on their learning process.

The topics for this yearˇ¦s projects were related to the different IH themes covered in the S2 curriculum and some of these included Personal and Social Development, and Social Systems and Citizenship. In their presentations, students employed different methods such as a drama to present their findings. In their spontaneous response to impromptu questions, the S2 students demonstrated both their understanding of their topic and critical thinking.

Unfortunately, the project presentation was interrupted due to adverse weather conditions. However, the second part of the presentations took place in the following week and was supported by an audience that consisted of schoolmates and teachers.

Though the S2 students had worked hard for months from researching on the topic to carrying out interviews and writing reports, their work would not have been successful without the support of the PBL Prefects. It is hoped that through working with their big sisters, the S2 students would take on such a role in guiding the junior form students in a year or two.
