Though most Holy Familians did not participate in the recent Legislative Council Elections, they did have the opportunity to voice their opinions in a mock election organized by the Moral and Civic Education Committee.
Three days prior to the Legco Elections, students were invited to cast their votes for the candidates, whose details and performance pledges were displayed in the covered playground. Students, like eligible voters, were given the right to exercise their discretion in voting for whom they regarded most suitable.
The results of the Mock Elections were released on 9 September and three of the five candidates who received the most votes were also those elected in the Legco Election. Through this activity, students got to be more aware of their civic rights and responsibilities and this, in turn, enhanced their social awareness. |
